Mrs. Betty A. (Jefferson) Cleveland, of Taunton, died Wednesday, January 16 in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert L. Cleveland, Sr. She was born 74 years ago in Middleboro, the daughter of the late Frank M. and Alzara (Bacon) Jefferson. She was educated in Middleboro and had been a Taunton resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a bench worker for Wilshire-American Lighting for 10 years. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves: 1 son: Herbert L. Cleveland, Jr. and his wife, Julie of Raynham; 1 daughter: Alzara “Ellie” Cleveland of Webster; 1 brother: Frank Jefferson of Carver; 2 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Eliza White of Taunton, and the grandmother of the late Pamela Cleveland of Raynham.
Funeral services will begin from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, January 22 at 10:15 A.M. A Procession to Mayflower Hill Cemetery will commence at 10:45 A.M. A Graveside Service will be held in Mayflower Hill Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
