FRANKLIN – Ruth M. Derby, 94, of 7 Baldwin Street, formerly of Springfield, NH, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Mountain Ridge Health Care Center in Franklin.
She was born on August 18, 1918 in Belmont, NH, the daughter of Nathan and Elsie (Smith) Dow. Ruth worked as a stitcher for W.H. Carter & Sons in Lebanon for a number of years.
She is survived by one son, Ronald D. Derby of Webster, NH, one daughter, Marsha Glasscock of Springfield, NH, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elmer F. Derby in 1991 and one sister, Carol Fortin.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the South Road Cemetery in Belmont.
