Margaret Mary Drennan of Medford, died peacefully on January 12, 2013, at the Winchester Hospital. She was 87 old and the beloved daughter of the late Richard P. and Margaret G. (Murray) Drennan.
Margaret graduated from Emmanuel College in 1947 and from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina in 1948. She was first employed in the Massachusetts Tuberculosis Association in Cambridge. She then worked for the American Lung Association's main office in New York City. Following her retirement, she formed Drennan Consultants and provided her clients with tax and financial services in New York City and Boston, for many years. She had also won several elections to the Medford School Committee.
Margaret was the loving sister of Ann Bridget and her husband Donald Forsyth of Germantown, TN, Fr. Lawrence J. Drennan of North Weymouth, Robert M. Drennan of Medford and the late Atty. F. Richard Drennan of Pittsfield and R. Peter and his wife Ann Marie Drennan of Enfield, CT. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law; Marion Shea Drennan of Pittsfield and twelve nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, January 21, 2013, at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10:30 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held on Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
