Irene D. Desmarais, 81, of Manchester, died January 14, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home after a period of failing health.
She was born in Manchester September 26, 1931 the daughter of Eugene and Eugenie (Marcotte) Couturier. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Irene worked for Blake’s Restaurant in Manchester for many years.
She enjoyed crafts and had participated in numerous craft fairs in the area.
She was married 53 years to Albert J. Desmarais, Sr., who died in 2003. In addition she was predeceased by a daughter, Jo-Ann Cruise.
Family members include two sons, Albert J. Desmarais, Jr. of Manchester and Robert A Desmarais of Goffstown; three daughters, Diane Iverson of Raymond, Donna Morse of Weare and Janice Laventure of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in St. Marie Church. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
