Paxton – Esther M. (Barrus) David, 89, of Paxton, died in her home while surrounded by her family on Friday, January 11th.
Mrs. David was married for 50 years, to her husband Paul A. David, who died in 2002. She is survived by a son, Alexis P. David of Barre; three daughters, Paulette L. Wood of Leicester, Susan A. Miller with whom Esther lived and Laura E. David of Millbury; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Esther was born in the Jefferson section of Holden, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Deloria) Barrus. She owned and operated A. David & Sons Transportation Company for 35 years with her husband, and retired in 1987.
Mrs. David was a member of Saint Columba Church and bowled for many years in the Holy Name of Jesus Bowling League. Esther enjoyed many things however she received great enjoyment from doing ceramics and paintings.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 16th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Columba Church 10 Richards Ave. Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday, January 15th from 5 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester.
