Gina Rodgers McEachern, 67, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at Heritage Healthcare of Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Monday, January 14, 2013, in The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Mike Ruffin and the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Steve Harden will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. McEachern was born March 2, 1945 in Hayes, Middlesex, England to the late Perry and Iris Westbury Rodgers. A 1963 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she attended Norman Park College and earned her Associate’s Degree in Art Education from Middle Georgia College. She also attended an art institute in Atlanta and Georgia College in Milledgeville. A former resident of Cochran and Milledgeville, she lived most of her life in Fitzgerald. She was a former para-professional in the Media Center at Ben Hill Primary School. Mrs. McEachern loved to draw and paint and was an accomplished artist. She loved the beach and the outdoors, her cats, and horses. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald and the Jim Carlton Sunday school class.
She is survived by her husband: Billy McEachern of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law: Christy Chapman Lee & Brian of Alpharetta, son and daughter-in-law: David Chapman & Sally of Milledgeville; step-daughters and sons-in-law: Rebecca Braddy & Brian and Amanda Batten & Greg, all of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; as well as two brothers and sisters-in-law: Alfred Rodgers & Vickie of Ocilla and Randy Rodgers & Dianne of Fitzgerald.
