Olga Maria Comas Bacardi, formerly Olga Maria Bartes Rodriguez Campa, 69, died on January 10, 2013 with her family by her side at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, Massachusetts at 7:17 p.m. She is survived by her loving husband, Adolfo Comas Bacardi, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.
Olga was originally from Havana, Cuba and was born on July 17, 1943. She was the only daughter of Franc Bartes and Olga R Campa. Studied in Merici Catholic School until her family left Cuba in 1961 to finish high school in Louisiana. She graduated from the University of Miami in 1966 with a bachelor degree in languages and was fluent in French, Spanish, German and English.
She loved to travel the world and see the art, the architecture and the history of anywhere her travels took her. She dedicated her life to being an incredible homemaker, a dedicated wife, a supportive mother, and a loving grandmother who cherished every moment with her family.
Olga never gave up her fight with her illness and battled 13 years of a rare cancer called carcinoid. She was a woman whose strength was admirable by the many people who knew her. She was a true friend to all that were lucky enough to know her and will be remembered as a loving soul who always wanted the best for everyone.
She is survived by her oldest son Toten Francisco, her daughter Ana Maria, her husband William and granddaughter Ana Cristina (3), and her youngest son Anton Emilio with wife Dana and grandchildren Abby (14) and Jesse (11).
Her funeral arrangements are with the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home and a holy mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Parish in North Andover Massachusetts on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:00AM.
