Donna M. Batta, 52

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Donna M. (Powers) Batta, age 52, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 while on vacation in Cancun, Mexico. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey J. Batta, to whom she was wed on June 1, 1985.
Born in Boston, MA on May 4, 1960, she was a loving daughter of Dorothy M. (Unsworth) Powers of Norton and the late Edward J. Powers, Sr.
Donna grew up in Mansfield and was a 1978 graduate of Mansfield High School. She also attended Dean Jr. College and Bryant College.
A dedicated homemaker to her cherished family, she also worked as an Office Manager at Industrial Precision Coatings, Inc., her family’s business in Randoplh.
When not spending time with family and friends, Donna’s greatest passion was horseback riding. She was the proud owner of “Beethoven”, her horse who she loved spending time with and riding in area state parks.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 43 years, she enjoyed spending time at her vacation homes in East Falmouth and in Jupiter, Florida.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her devoted children, Janelle M. Batta of New York City, Kyle J. Batta of Jupiter, Florida and Craig J. Batta of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Edward J. Powers, Jr. and his wife Kerri of Norton. She was the sister-in-law of Michael Batta and his wife Leasha of West Barnstable and the aunt of Colby and Devin Powers, John and Matthew Batta and Dina and Mia Zarembski.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at 11:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 15th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and also on Wednesday morning prior to the funeral services beginning at 9:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, Donna’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, 175 Fruit St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
