
Cligstein, Dr. David 95 of Swampscott and formerly of Chelsea passed away on January 9, 2013 at Beverly Hospital. David was born in Chelsea and has been a resident of Swampscott for the last 11 years. He attended the Chelsea School System and was a graduate of Chelsea High School Dr. Cligstein was a graduate of the Beacon School of Podiatry. He was a member of the Malden Jewish War Veterans, Knights of Pythias and a member of Congregation Sons of Israel-Peabody, MA. Dr. Cligstein enjoyed history, antiques and medical history. Lastly, he was a proud WWII United States Army Veteran.
David was the beloved husband of Miriam (Goldstein) Cligstein. He was the devoted father of Marci Casaletto and her husband Joseph. He was the loving son of the late Harry Cligstein and the late Rebecca (Vinar) Cligstein. David was the dear brother of the late Sarah Rubin, the late Ida Griff, the late Bessie Feldman and the late Minnie Koltow. He was also the loving grandfather of Marisa Casaletto.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Everett. Memorial observance will be held immediately following the interment until 7:00 PM at the Crown Club at Crown Pointe and at his late residence, Monday thru Thursday 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Donations in Dr. Cligstein’s memory may be made to Congregation Sons of Israel, PO Box 702 Peabody, MA 01960.
