Obituary

TAUNTON – Joseph Byan, husband of Lee (Araujo) Lopes-Byan of Taunton, and the late Elizabeth (Wilson) Byan, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Jan. 9, 2013. He was 83.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late William and Josephine (Lewiski) Byan.

Mr. Byan was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War.

Formerly of Pennsylvania, he was employed as a truck driver for over forty years, retiring from the Carolina Trucking Co. of Carlisle, PA in 1995.

Earlier, he drove for Kramer Trucking of Chicago, and had been the Pennsylvania area supervisor for Ardmore Farms.He was a member of the teamsters union.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Byan leaves a son, Michael “Ricky” Byan and his wife Sheryl of TX;

two daughters, Jean E. Green and her husband Darrell of TX, and Lisa Morgan and her husband Scott of Delaware;

a stepdaughter, Linda Bernardino Goudreau and her husband Roger of Taunton;

two stepsons, Anthony G. Lopes of Boston and William J. Lopes and his wife Karen of Raynham;

six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;

one step grandson; and four step great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday Jan. 12th at 8 p.m.

Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 6 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Mr. Byan will be buried later in Pennsylvania.
