Obituary


Tullahoma, Tenn. — Joseph Albert Charest, age 69, of Tullahoma, Tenn., formerly of Windham, N.H., passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center.

While a resident of Windham, he worked at Avco in Wilimington which later became Textron. He was a retired engineering technician from Sverdrup Corporation who loved watching UT football and cooking outdoors for his family.

Born in Lawrence, his parents, Teddy and Mary Charest preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Charest of Tulluhoma; daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Caron of Derry, N.H.; son, Joe (Cookie) Charest, Jr. of Lawrence; stepsons, Jerry (Faye) Walls of Estill Springs, Ron (Peggy) Walls of Estill Springs and Don (Tina) Walls of Winchester; stepdaughter, Renee (Kenneth) Gunn of Lynchburg; sisters, Joyce (Walter) Norton of Salem, N.H. and Susan (John) Feoli of Sandown, N.H.; “older” brother, Emile Charest; nine grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services for his family in Tennessee were held on Wednesday.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours for family and friends will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday January 11 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 12 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
