Beatrice Earl Boyd was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on July 5, 1922 to Celena (Willis) Boyd and Lord Eric Boyd. She enjoyed a long and active life filled with yearly trips to New York City to see the latest Broadway shows; taking multiple cruises to her favorite island of Bermuda; attending performances of noted gospel choirs at Symphony Hall or the Boston Pops Holiday performance for nearly 15 years.
Beatrice was a fiercely independent woman who thoroughly enjoyed working until the age of 90. She retired from Boston City Hospital in 1989 after 20 years of service. Not one for inactivity, she worked at H&R Block as a customer service representative during the tax season for the next 20 years. When a new opportunity arose, she moved to a part-time position at the Brookline Council on Aging in 2004, where she remained until last September.
Beatrice was an avid needlepointer and knitter; often making scarves, mittens, hats and blankets for family and friends. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews and always acknowledged their birthdays,anniversaries and other important events in their lives.
Beatrice leaves behind her nephews; Richard Boyd (Adrienne), Eric Boyd (Tonya), Carl Boyd (Kecia); her nieces; Deborah Boyd, Helaina Boyd; great nephews; Paul Bunn, Eric Boyd, Jr., Joshua Boyd; great niece Christa Boyd-Hardy (Mathias) and her great, great nephew Mathias Hardy, Jr.
