Vincent T. Matta, age 75, of Brockton, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband for 31 years of the late Margie (Collins) Matta. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, he was the son of the late George and Anna Matta. He had been employed at Brockton Industrial Electric for 15 years and retired after nine years from Shaw’s Supermarket where he had been employed as a Butcher. One of his favorite hobbies was collecting knives and lighters.
He is survived by his children Lisa Anderson and her husband James of Coral, PA, Frederick Matta of Brockton and Tina Miller and her husband Michael of Brockton; nine grandchildren, Samantha, Rebecca, Matthieu, and Kelli Miller, Victoria and Frederick Matta, Jr. Crystal Matta and Paul and Jessica Wiles; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of George Matta and his wife Helen of Gloucester, Ronald P. Matta and his wife Barbara and Daniel Matta and his wife Patricia of Brockton, Georgette S. Gray of Chicago, IL, Patricia Litif and her husband Kevin of Bridgewater, Edmund Matta and his wife Rosemary of Easton and brother in law of Louise Matta of New Hampshire. He was the brother of the late Ronald, Georgette, Edward and William Matta; grandfather of the late Cameron and Deirdre Miller, and brother in law of the late Ralph Gray and Gloria Matta.
