Obituary

Walter J. Grava of Reading passed away on Sunday July 4, 2004 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was 81 years of age.

Born in Haverhill, Walter was the son of the late Joseph Grava and Victotria (Breda) Grava. Walter was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.

Walter owned Bellingham Hardware in Chelsea for sixteen years. He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran during World War II. In his spare time, Walter enjoyed golfing.

Walter was the beloved husband of Margaret (Raymond) Grava. He was the devoted father of Donna M. Chapman and her husband Stephen of North Andover and the late Kenneth Grava. Walter was the cherished grandfather of Michelle A. Chapman and Erica G. Chapman. He was the dear brother of Natalie Rosenberg of Melrose, the late Adele Stella of Florida and the late Vilma Fegan of Haverhill. Walter was the brother in law of Wilfred J. Raymond and his wife Leona of New Hampshire. Walter was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday at 11am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 12pm. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday 6-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, W. Peabody.
