Obituary

Methuen, MA – Concetta “Connie” (DiOrio) Belluardo, 97, of Methuen died peacefully Monday, January 7, 2013 at Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre in Methuen, MA.
Connie was the daughter of the late Domenico and Anna (Fiore) DiOrio, born in Lawrence, MA on December 6, 1915. She was educated in Methuen and spent over ninety years in the same house in the Pleasant Valley area. She was married for 65 years and raised her three children in that home.
She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Vincent “Sam” Belluardo and her daughter Beverly Belluardo.
She is survived by her two sons: Richard and his wife Anna Belluardo of San Antonio, Texas and Thomas and his wife Francine Belluardo of Methuen. She will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren: Stacey and her husband Brian of Texas, BJ and her husband Scott of Texas, Kerrie and her husband Brian of Andover, MA, Kellie and her husband Danny of Wakefield, MA, and Melissa of Andover, MA. Connie will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had nine great grandchildren: Blake, Melia, Brandon, Thomas, Tessa, Ellyn, Miles, Hudson, and Aria.
She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with her husband, visits to Texas to see her family, and gardening and cooking. Both of Connie’s parents were born in Italy and Connie grew up in a home rich in Italian culture and heritage. Her family feasted with Connie’s impressive skills in the kitchen. Her daughters-in-law and grandchildren keep up the family legacy by making her sauce and meatballs, a recipe that she taught them. The family will remember festive gatherings at the house in Methuen with Connie’s extraordinary cooking, family card games, and lots of stories shared. Connie was always cooking and keeping her guests eating and happy. She adored her family and greatly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with each of them.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 10:00 AM from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Friends will be warmly received at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 9th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
