Joseph R. McHugh, 79 of Natick, known by most as Mickey McHugh passed away on January 5, 2013 at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. He was the husband of Pearla McHugh (Ryan).
Born in Boston, MA, the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy McHugh , he was raised in Newton, MA and soon after high school joined the United States Marine Corps. During his years of service he served over a year in Korea. Mickey was a true Marine and was proud of his service he made to his country.
In addition to his wife, Mickey is survived by his two granddaughters, Michelle Frazer of Framingham, and Shari McHugh of Natick, his son Darren McHugh of Natick, his siblings, Katherine Long of Antrim N.H, Helen Jones of Natick, Dorothy MacGregor of Natick, louise Hanscome of N.H, Anita Lahey of Webster, Mary Ellen Fiorillo of Webster, Arthur C. McHugh Jr. of Florida, Michael McHugh of Dighton, James McHugh of Framingham, Robert McHugh of South Carolina, and cousin Robert LeRoy of Bridgewater. Mickey was also the brother of the late Theodore McHugh and William McHugh and father of the late David McHugh.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mickey’s wake in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick on Thursday, January 10, 2013, visiting from 4:00-7:00 PM. The burial will be held at the MA National Veterans Cemetery, Connery Ave Bourne, MA on Wednesday January 16, at 1:00pm.
