Obituary

TEWKSBURY: George R. Brazee, age 65, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 at home with his family by his side, following a courageous year long battle with cancer.

He was the husband of Roberta K. (Miles) Brazee with whom he celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on November 2nd.

Born in Tewksbury on March 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Phillips) Brazee.

Mr. Brazee attended Tewksbury schools.

Prior to his retirement in May, he worked for the Maintenance Dept. of the Tewksbury Housing Authority for the past 10 years. Mr. Brazee previously worked for Tewksbury Metals, Inc. for over 20 years.

He was a former member of the Wamesit Masonic Lodge AF & AM of Tewksbury.

Mr. Brazee was a member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening, vacationing in Maine, spending time with his grandchildren and volunteering his time to the Tewksbury community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 daughters: Tammie L. Pitman and her husband John of Tewksbury; Debra E. Frederiksen and her husband Charles of Buffalo, NY, Joyce K. Mancini and her husband Michael of Milford, Mass. and Christine E. Lewis and her husband Randy of Tewksbury; 1 sister; Elizabeth Ryder and her husband Milton of Tewksbury; 4 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law; David Brazee and his wife Anna (Amari) of Billerica, William Brazee of Andover, Paul Brazee of Tewksbury, Wendell Brazee and his wife Nancy (Kemp) of Danville, NH and Patricia (Mawn) Brazee of Chelmsford; a brother-in-law; Everett McBride of Tewksbury;7 grandchildren; Danielle Pitman, Evelyn and Jacob Frederiksen, Michael and Derek George Mancini and Rebecca and Elizabeth Lewis.

Mr. Brazee was the brother of the late Louis A. Brazee and Barbara J. McBride and brother-in-law of the late Patricia (Bourdelais) Brazee.

Calling hours Tuesday, July 6th from 3-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral services Wednesday, July 7th at 11 a.m. at the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, cor. of Main & South St., Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the George R. Brazee Memorial Fund for Mesothelioma Research c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115 are suggested.
