Olympia “Ollie” Raso, a longtime Somerville resident, died Thursday at Harborside Health Care Center, Wakefield. She was 92.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Tomasso and Carmela (Allano) DeRosa.She was a dedicated wife and mother. In her later years she enjoyed the company of her friends at Somerville’s Cross Street Senior Center.
She was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Raso. She was a devoted mother of John G Raso, Thomas R. Raso, both of Florida, Ann Raso of Falmouth and Janet Fleming of Malden. She was a loving grandmother of 7 and loving great grandmother of 10. She was also a dear sister of Antoinette Correnti of Somerville and Rose Smith of FL.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Benedict Church, 21 Hathorne Street, Somerville. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends and family may visit Tuesday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Alzheimers Disease And Related Disorders Assoc., 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.
