Raymond B. Castino, Sr., 80, of New Bedford died July, 4, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital unexpectedly after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Elaine (MacDonald) Castino with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Emerson B. and Gertrude M. (Lawrence) Castino, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Castino was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Westport.
He was formerly employed by P. Kaller and Son for many years until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Castino was an avid golfer and a member of the Hawthorne Country Club. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Raymond B. Castino, Jr., and his wife Nancy, of New Bedford and Ralph E. Castino, and his wife Mary Ellen, of Seekonk; 2 brothers, Robert L. Castino of Plymouth, Michigan and Kenneth R. Castino of Dartmouth; 2 sisters, Nancy J. Johansen of Dartmouth and Marjorie E. Miller of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren, Susan, Matthew, Rachel, Andrew, Seth and Sarah; a great-granddaughter, Amanda; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Emerson B. Castino, Gertrude M. Crowell, Ida M. Bithoney and Evelyn Castino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordTuesday, July 6th at 7:30 PM.
Visiting hours Tuesday, July 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
Burial in Sunset Maine will be private.
