DYES - Gerald W. Dyes, 74, passed away January 4, 2013. Mr. Dyes was born July 26, 1938 in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Orange Park two years ago from Lake City, FL.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a published cartoonist, a musician and loved working with flowers.
Mr. Dyes was predeceased by his parents, John Wesley and Pauline Brinson Dyes; his wife, Shelba J. Dyes; his son, Gerald E. "Gerry" Dyes; and a brother, Jack W. Dyes.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Deborah and Gary James; two sisters, Linda Hullett and Carolyn Dyes; two grandchildren, Kris James and Jason James; three great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 Monday, January 7, at Green Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
