New Bedford – Hilda (Mendonca) Rose, died Friday, December 28, 2012, at the home of her daughter. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel G. Rose.
Hilda was the daughter of the late Maria (Silva) and Manuel Mendonca.
Mrs. Rose is survived by her daughter Beverly Martin of New Bedford, her granddaughters Lisa Sylvia and Lori Levasseur, and her great grandchildren Christopher and Corey Sylvia and Nicole and Jonathan Levasseur. She also leaves behind her special friend Thaddeus “Ted” Zosiak and a niece and several nephews. Hilda was the sister of the late Manuel Mendonca Jr. and John Mendonca.
Mrs. Rose loved playing BINGO and was affectionately known as “Heidi” to all her Foxwood friends. She also loved to sing and dance and always put her family first. Mrs. Rose was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, New Bedford.
Visiting hours with cremains present are Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6 – 8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma. Services will begin promptly at 6:30 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment of cremains will be private at the convenience of the family.
