John Thomas McGrath, 52, “PaPa John” of Plymouth formerly of Kingston died at home on December 30 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his long time companion Jean Garland of Plymouth. His children Johnathan McGrath and his husband Gus McGrath of Holbrook, Timothy McGrath of Weymouth, Deborah Harrington, Tammy Morey both of Carver, and Chester Garland Jr. of Plymouth. Brother of Mary Larivee of Ohio, Stephanie Shaughnessy of Hull, Daniel McGrath of Duxbury, Joanne Reilly of New York, Joseph McGrath of Wareham, Patrick McGrath of Pawtucket, Michael McGrath of Plymouth, Maria Sullivan of Marshfield and the late Jane DeForge. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
John was born in Stoughton and graduated from Marshfield High School, he was a truck driver for Carra Donna, and he loved gardening, camping and especially his family.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St (Rte 3A) N. Plymouth on Thursday January 3, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A prayer service will be held on Friday January 4 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cranberry Hospice 36 Cordage Park Cr. Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360
