…owner of Tewksbury Inn; 89
TEWKSBURY - Anna M. (Walsh) Sheehan, age 89, a well known businesswoman in Tewksbury, died peacefully on New Years Day 2013, at Lowell General’s Saints Campus. She was the wife for 53 years of John C. “Jack” Sheehan, who died in March 2000. She and her husband owned and operated the former Tewksbury Inn for 50 years.
Anna was born in Charlestown, April 2, 1923, one of seven children of the late Michael and Mary (Heanue) Walsh. She was raised in Somerville and graduated from St. Clements Elementary and High Schools. She and Jack moved to Tewksbury in 1957, where they were active in the building of St. William’s Parish. Anna was also active in the St. William’s Blessed Virgin Mary Women’s Sodality.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula A. Sheehan and her partner James Vocell of Atkinson, NH, Veronica M. “Ronnie” Hill and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury, Patricia Campbell of Bradford, MA; five grandchildren, John M. Campbell of Providence, RI, David M. Campbell, and Colleen M. Campbell both of Bradford, Shawn Hill and his wife Diane (LaCroix) of Tewksbury, Derek Hill and his wife Danielle (Mottola) of Chelmsford; three great grandchildren, Ava, Zac, and Austin; two brothers, John “Jack” Walsh and his wife Lillian of Tewksbury, James Walsh and his wife Judy of Medford, and many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her son, John Joseph Sheehan; brothers, Michael and Thomas Walsh and her sisters, Catherine Kelleher and M. Theresa Dinsmore.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, January 7, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed in the Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donations,?89 South St., Suite 406, Boston, MA 02111 will be appreciated, or visit www.komenmass.org
