Brenda Bedingfield, 66, of Fitzgerald died Monday, December 31, 2012, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder W.H. Durrence officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bedingfield was born June 26, 1946 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to James Henry and Evie Lena Cummings Thompson. She lived in the community most of her life and was a homemaker. For forty-one years, she was a minister’s wife while her husband served Primitive Baptist congregations in Louisiana, Texas, Florida and across South Georgia. She was a member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church of Sasser, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband: Elder Jimmy Bedingfield of Fitzgerald, Georgia; daughter: Lisa Ann Lewis of Fitzgerald, Georgia; son: Jimmy Darrell Bedingfield of Fayetteville, North Carolina; son: William Mark (Carolyn) Bedingfield of Fitzgerald, Georgia; daughter: Tammy Diane (Lee) Rawlins of Ambrose, Georgia; daughter: Melody Renee Story of Fitzgerald, Georgia and son: Joseph Alan Bedingfield of Fitzgerald, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister: Olean Davis of Fitzgerald, Georgia, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
