Miss Florence E Carangelo, age 94 of Melrose, formerly of Boston's North End , died Saturday in the Tuell Nursing Home in Melrose Miss Carangelo was born in Boston, the daughter of the late John and Teresa (Sorrentino) Carangelo. She is a graduate of Boston schools. She enjoyed cooking, Feast time in the North End and spending time with her family, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Miss Carangelo was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (I.L.G.W.U.) In earlier years she worked as a seamstress. She reportedly made beautiful aprons as well. Miss Carangelo was a Boston native and spent most of her life as a resident of Boston's North End. She is survived by a sister Sofia Koryta of OH, and is sister of the late Anna Carangelo, Lena DeMinico, Margaret Bova, Rita Nollett and Vincent Carangelo. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephew, grand nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 through 8 Pm. at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, Thursday at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Those who prefer may make contributions in Florence's name to The Home for Little Wanderers, Development Department, 271 Huntington Avenue, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02115 services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
