Obituary

Madelyn H. (Johnson) Smith, 90, of Carver, died on December 28th at The Life Care Center of Plymouth. She is survived by her loving children Fred K. Smith of Clearmont, FL; David C. Smith and his wife Terry of Plymouth and Carol A. Peavey and her husband Mark also of Plymouth. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her very dear friend of 51 years, Mary Boulier, her husband Cliff and daughter Barbara of Plymouth. She was also the mother of the late Arthur Johnson of Tewksbury.

Madelyn was born on December 29, 1921 in Brockton and was the daughter of the late Sydna and Walter Johnson. She was one of nine children, who have all gone before her. Madelyn attended the Brockton schools. Madelyn had worked for the Ellis Curtain Factory, P.A.C.E., The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Unemployment Office, and The Plymouth Youth Organization. She enjoyed bingo, was an avid Red Sox fan and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Wednesday, January 2nd from 2 to 4 PM followed by a celebration of her life service at 4 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Madelyn’s name to the Cranberry Hospice 36 Cordage Park Circle Suite 326, Plymouth MA 02360
