Grace Stevens Merritt, age 69, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Merritt was born on May 10, 1943 in Douglas, GA to the late Allen Stevens and Mary Lee Carver Stevens. She was preceeded in death by her husband, John Lindsey Merritt.
Survivors include; Four sons: Don Merritt; Darrell (Tammy) Merritt; Tony (Denice) Merritt and Chris Merritt, all of Douglas, GA; Three Sisters: Becky (Willis) Musgrove; Autra (Hansel) Brown and Clarice (Gerald) Jewell, all of Douglas, GA; One Brother: William Henry (Mae) Stevens, Orlando, FL; Ten Grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Merritt was Secretary and Treasurer of Calvary Mission Church for fourteen years. She cherished serving her God and her Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 6 to 9 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Mission Church with Rev. Gene Chaney and Rev. Rob Merritt will be officiating at the services. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery
