Rita M. Severino, age 91, passed away peacefully December 28, at the Kaplan Family Hospice of Danvers after a lengthy illness. Her loving family was by her side. She was the wife of the late William Severino.
The daughter of the late Mary (Allan) and Anthony Neves. Rita was raised in Somerville where she met and married her late husband. They settled in North Woburn in 1956 raising their family and being an active member of Woburn community. Rita enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needlepoint for her family and friends and even found time to teach the art at Woburn High School evening classes. Her greatest joy in life was being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her cherished great granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Severino of Woburn, her two sons William Severino and his wife Leah of Billerica, Gerard Severino and his wife Laura of Derry, NH., her loving grandchildren Robin Alford and her husband Matthew of Medford, David Severino of Billerica, Jason Severino and his fiancée Lindsey Carbaugh, Anthony Severino and his fiancée Jamie Benedetto all of Fremont, NH., Paul Severino of Derry, NH., and her cherished great granddaughter Emma-Lynne Ann Severino of Fremont, NH.
Rita’s funeral will be held from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Wednesday, January 2, at 9 am, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 850 Main St. Woburn at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
