Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Elizabeth C. (Copley) Davis, age 98, a resident of Tewksbury for over 70 years, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Tewksbury Hospital.

She was the wife of Warren A. Davis, who died March 1, 1997.

Born in Lowell on November 5, 1905, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Mulvihill) Copley.

Mrs. Davis was raised in Lowell. She attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.

Following graduation, she worked for several years as a switchboard operator for the former New England Telephone Company in Lowell and Haverhill.

She attended the Tewksbury Congregational Church for 56 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid and Friendly Guild.

Mrs. Davis devoted her life to providing a caring home for her family.

She is survived by 1 daughter; Nancy E. Coombes of Andover; 1 son; Richard W. “Butch” Davis and his wife Sharalyn (Roberts) of Newburyport; 1 sister; Alice Marren of Melrose; 5 grandchildren; Todd and Jeffrey Davis, Alyssa Davis Larson, Wendy Coombes Hallowell and Jamie Coombes; 9 great grandchildren; Stephen, Cassaundra and Parker Davis, Sarah and Carly Hallowell, Joshua and Jacob Coombes, Hannah and Cole Larson; also many nieces and nephews including Gerry Panessiti of Chelmsford.

Mrs. Davis was the sister of the late Delia Brown, Molly Copley, Margaret Lye, Thomas, John, David, Francis, Raymond and Paul Copley and mother-in-law of the late Richard W. Coombes.

Graveside services Saturday, July 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Tewksbury Cemetery, East St., Tewksbury. At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tewksbury Congregational Church, East St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 or to the Jimmy Fund, One Harvard St., Brookline, MA 02146 are suggested.
