Obituary

Leo F. Dermady of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Winchester Hospital. He was 80 years of age.

Born in Somerville, Leo was the son of the late Josephine T. (Sullivan) and Ronald Dermady. Leo was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed.

Leo was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 104 in Wakefield since 1962. He was Past Grand Knight and District Deputy. During the Korean War, Leo proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United Air Force. He was also a member of the American Legion.


Leo was the beloved husband of Helen A. (Dunn) Dermady. He was the devoted father of Kathleen Corindia and her husband David of Stoneham. Leo was the cherished grandfather of Joseph D. Corindia and Colleen M. Corindia both of Stoneham and the loving brother of the late Joan Marley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Leo’s Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Wednesday from 4-7 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
