SPRINGFIELD – Albert E. Scagliarini, 87, a longtime resident of the Forest Park section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He was born in Springfield on April 25, 1925, a beloved son of the late August and Emma (Cotti) Scagliarini and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was last employed as a landscaper for the City of Springfield Department of Elder Affairs in their Title V Program and was previously a longtime custodian at Holy Name Church in Springfield. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving daughter, Dorothy M. Scagliarini who was Called Home on April 27, 1984; and his beloved wife, Pearl A. (Chapin) Scagliarini who was Called Home on April 18, 2007. He leaves: his loving children, Ann Strogoff of Springfield, Theresa Pierce and her husband, Gary, of Southwick, Dianna Scagliarini of Springfield, Albert Scagliarini and his wife, Joanne, of Wilbraham, Patricia Scagliarini of Springfield and Elizabeth Fairbanks of Springfield; and his many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. His family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday morning, December 31, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
