Donald Raymond Bynum, Sr., age 68, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was born in Yalobusha County, MS on July 9, 1944 to the late George Raymond and Martha Virginia Roberts Bynum. Don loved driving a truck and was employed as a truck driver for MS Carriers until his retirement. He enjoyed life and his passions were cooking, fishing, spending time with his family and grandchildren and helping others whenever he could. Don was a member of Jumper’s Chapel Church in Yalobusha County, MS.
Services are planned for Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Mooreman officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Jumper’s Chapel Church Cemetery in with Cameron LaCook, Dillon LaCook, Shelby Ladner, Greg Calfee, Dan Bynum, Ben Vanlandingham, James Griffin and Dustin Baldwin serving as pallbearers. Dustin LaCook will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bynum of Water Valley, MS; three daughters, Rena Calfee of Pontotoc, MS, Rita Ladner of New Albany, MS and Amy Vanlandingham (Wesley) of Water Valley, MS; one son, Donald Bynum, Jr. of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Ronald Terry Bynum of Senatobia, MS and Larry Bynum of Chicago, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Samantha Baldwin, Dan Bynum, Dustin LaCook, Cameron LaCook, Dillon LaCook, Spencer Ladner, Ansley Ladner, Shelby Hernandez, Kelsey Hernandez, Makayla Harvey, Kylie-Grace Bynum, Hayden Bynum, Shelly Vanlandingham, Ben Vanlandingham and Cory Vanlandingham; and six great-grandchildren, Lana Baldwin, Aubrey Baldwin, Eion Bynum, Emily Bynum, Megan Bynum and Kayden Vanlandingham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Anthony and his brother, Danny Bynum.
