Janice I. MacCorkle. 61

Janice I. MacCorkle, 61, of Bridgewater, formerly of Norton, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Kindred Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in East Bridgewater.
Born in Boston, MA on November 1, 1951, she was a devoted daughter of the late Charles N. and Jane E. (Gillespie) MacCorkle.
Jan grew up in Attleboro and Norton. She was educated in Norton schools and was a graduate of Norton High School. She furthered her studies and graduated with a degree in computer science from the Southeastern Technical Institute.
Prior to retiring, she had worked for over 20 years in the Data Processing Department for the City of Brockton.
A resident of Bridgewater for the past 29 years, she was a former member of the Old Colony Four Wheel Drive Club. Her hobbies included collecting teddy bears and attending area dog shows.
Jan enjoyed helping others. She and her late dog “Dudley” enjoyed visiting and cheering up the residents at area nursing homes. When younger, she along with her family attended the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton.
She is survived by her loving fiancé Jay Fenton with whom she made her home in Bridgewater. She is also survived by her dear sister, Nancy J. Place of Ohio and her cherished niece and nephew, Melissa Place and her husband Raymond Lee and Derek Place all of Ohio.
Graveside Funeral Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd at 1:00 P.M. at Mount Hope Cemetery, on Mount Hope St., in North Attleboro.
Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
