John J. “Jack” Reilly age 88 of Canton passed away December 22nd at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Mission Hill, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary Theresa (Barrett) Reilly and stepson of the late Norah Reilly. He graduated from Mission High School and enlisted in the Army at age 18 and when he returned home from WW II he began working for the Red Sox where he worked for over 50 years, retiring as Treasurer in 1992. During that time he graduated from Northeastern University. He and his wife Barbara married in 1956 and settled in Canton in 1961 to raise their 4 boys. He and Barbara loved travel, Irish music, dancing, singing and his beloved Red Sox. Beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Steele). Father of Mark & his wife Barbara of Walpole, John J. Jr. & his wife Julie of E. Greenwich, RI, Christopher & his wife Annette of Cumming, GA & Michael & his wife Heidi of Canton. Brother of Mary Reilly of W. Roxbury & the late Edward Reilly. Grandfather of Jacqueline, Colleen, Jack, Gweneth, Charlotte, Andrew, Lauren, Caroline (Coco) and Samuel. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Friday morning at 10.
