Mr. Giuseppe Coiro, age 92 of Somerville died Thursday at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Francesca (Tierno) with whom he shared more than 63 years of marriage. Mr. Coiro was born and educated in Italy, son of the late Luigi and Rosa (Carimando) Coiro . Mr. Coiro emigrated with his family from Italy to the United States in 1966 settling in Somerville. He has remained a Somerville resident ever since. Mr. Coiro worked in the Construction industry. He was involved in the construction of many houses and buildings throughout his career. At home, he was the "go to" guy among his family and friends. He had a vast knowledge of how to build things and demolition as well. In addition to his wife, he is the devoted father of three daughters: Rosa Botelho of Somerville, Maria Barletta and her husband Carlo of Stoneham, Sandra Coiro-Silva and her husband Michael of Somerville. Beloved grandfather of George Botelho and Jonathan Barletta and his wife Liz.; Brother of the late Antonietta Pepe and Francesco Coiro. He will be sadly missed by his feline friend "Zackie".
Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Monday Dec. 24 at 9:00 am. Followed by a funeral service to be celebrated at 10 am in the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 315 Elm Street Everett. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Giuseppe's name may be sent to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem MA. 01970. Services will conclude with entombment in Woodlawn Versaille Mausoleum.
