Obituary

Jimmy "Ray" Dickey, age 76, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born October 7, 1936 in Water Valley to the late Rex and Maggie Dickey. Ray served two tours during the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force, was a self-employed welder until his retirement and was a member of Mt. Liberty Baptist Church. He had a great sense of humor, he loved people and enjoyed kidding around with them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and feeding his deer and other critters and he loved spending time with his family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funerals services will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Wall officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery with Kenan Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Randy Simmons, Rocky Wilder, Artie Stewart, Justin Smith, Rex Smith, and Bubba Simmons serving as pallbearers. James Smith and Dencil House will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Ray is survived by his wife, Deborah of Water Valley; three daughters, Kimberly Anne Dickey and Tina Marie Archer both of Water Valley and Pamela Patterson of Pontotoc, MS; two sons, Steven Jeffrey Archer and James Edward Archer both of Memphis, TN; three sisters, Jo Anne Stewart (Artie) and Marjorie Smith (James) both of Water Valley and Sue Massey of Pontotoc, MS; four grandchildren, Zachery Snider, Jaida Dickey, Meaghen Owens, and Daniel Patterson; and one great-grandchild, Maggie Anne Owens.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Simmons.
