Warren I. Bailey, 88, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday December 19, 2012 in the Arbors of Bedford. He was born in Derry on November 13, 1924, a son of the late Elwyn and Ethel (Venner) Bailey. Having been a lifelong resident of Derry, he attended Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1944. Mr. Bailey had been employed as a custodian for Grenier Airfield in Manchester, and worked several years as a security guard at Pinkerton Academy in Derry. In his earlier years, he loved the outdoors as he went on numerous hunting and fishing trips. Mr. Bailey was a Navy veteran serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and was an Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam era. Mr. Bailey was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, and the AARP.
He is survived by his sister, Lucy (Bailey) Brown of Derry; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his eight siblings.
Calling hours were held Wednesday, December 26th from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. Memorials may be made to the Community Caregivers, 58 E.
