MAGNAN Madeleine of West Roxbury passed away Dec. 15, 2012 after a long illness. Loving wife of Jerry Magnan. Loving mother of Sandra (Frimou) Calmes and her husband James Reidy and their wonderful children, Isabella and Lila. Sister of Roselyne and her husband Francois and their children Antoine and John and her late brother Michel’s children Boris and Anick. Also survived by 23 nephews and nieces, 5 grand nephews and nieces and many friends too numerous to be listed here. Born in Switzerland in 1945, she has happily lived in the United States for the past 31 years. She went from expert seamstress to successful clothing designer. Later she managed medical instrument manufacturing at MediTech and Boston Scientific. In 1994 she received her college degree in interior design. She brightened the lives of everyone she met with humor, warmth and compassion. She was devoted to family and friends, supported loved ones during hard times and championed numerous charitable causes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund and the American Lung Assoc. of the Northeast. Visiting hours will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury Ma. on Thur. Dec. 20th. from 4-8pm.
