Obituary

Worcester- Joseph R. Scucko, 66, of 33 ½ Barclay St., and 98 Shore Rd., Charlton, died Saturday, June 26, in St. Vincent Hospital.

His wife of 39 years, Loretta E. (Trudell) Scucko, died February 8. He leaves a son, William F. Mott, Jr. of Woburn; two daughters, Diane M. Pechinis and her husband Tom of Worcester, and Jodi A. Oliver and her husband Doug of Paxton; two sisters, Irene M. Wood of Sutton and Theresa M. Perreault and her husband Leo of Sutton; three grandchildren, Nicole A. Pechinis and Jonathan J. Pechinis, both of Worcester, and Garret Nash Oliver of Paxton; nephews and nieces. A sister, Marie F. Smith, and a brother-in-law, Herbert Wood, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph J. and Irene L. (Mitchell) Scucko, and lived here all his life.

He spent summers in Charlton at his summer home for the last 30 years.

Mr. Scucko was a truck driver and later worked in the warehouse at Atlas Distributing Company, Auburn, where he worked for 43 years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of St. John’s Parish, the Teamsters Local 170, and the Vernon Hill American Legion Post 435.

He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force.

The funeral will be Wednesday, June 30, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, in the funeral home.
