Minnie A. DeGraan

...Tewksbury resident since 1956; 83

TEWKSBURY-Minnie A. (Malone) DeGraan, 83, a Tewksbury resident for nearly five decades, died at her home Saturday morning, June 26, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the lateGeorge H. DeGraan, who died in 1978.

She was born in Nova Scotia October 1, 1920 the daughter of the late Hibbert and Lydia (Allen)Malone. She immigrated to East Boston at the age of four, and had lived in Tewksbury since1956.

She earned her associates degree at Boston Clerical School.

In her earlier years, she was a clerk for McQuaid’s store in downtown Lowell, and later workedas a secretary for Fred C. Church Insurance Agency. She was active in Tewksbury communityservice as recording secretary for the Planning Board and Appeals Board, and a member of theCouncil Of Aging.

She was very involved in the Ladies Aid for the Tewksbury Congregational Church. In her mostrecent years, she was also active at the Tewksbury Senior Drop in Center.

She is survived by two children; Albert DeGraan of Texas, Walter DeGraan and his Fiancé Grace“Jace” Tilton both of Tewksbury; two Grandchildren George DeGraan of Nashua, and DerekDeGraan of Texas; three great grandchildren, Robin, Sarah and Brandon DeGraan.

She was alsosister of the late Harry Malone and Marshall Malone.

Her Funeral Service was held Tuesday, June 29, in the Tewksbury Congregational Church, Tewksbury Center. Interment was in LowellCemetery.
