COOK - Johnny Edward Cook, 76, passed away Wednesday evening, December 12, 2012. He was born June 3, 1936 in Miami, FL and moved to Fernandina Beach 40 years ago from Jacksonville, FL.
He was of the Baptist faith and a former member of the Yulee Lions Club. He enjoyed woodworking and built furniture as well as other things. As a musician, he played the guitar. Mr. Cook was well liked by the community and was always there to help anyone who needed help. He loved the mountains and enjoyed fishing. Above all he was a devoted husband and father.
He was predeceased by a son, Gregory Allen Cook; his parents, Emmet and Lillie Suit Cook; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Medders Cook of Fernandina Beach, FL; a son, Johnny "Wayne" Cook of Fernandina Beach; two daughters, Cynthia Cook Addy, also of Fernandina Beach and Kathy Cook Langford (Bobby) of Daytona Beach, FL; five brothers, three sisters, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 15, at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee with Rev. Denny Music officiating.
Hughes Cemetery is located in Yulee off Pages Dairy Rd. Take with Palmetto Ave. or Florida Ave. (off Pages Dairy about 1/4 mi. from US 17).
