Doris R. (Turgeon) Dupuis, age 65 of Peabody, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, with her family by her side at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Donald E. Dupuis with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Rita (Morin) Turgeon.
A graduate of St. Joseph Academy of Salem, Doris first worked at the former Whaler’s Pub at the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody. She and Donald married in 1967 and the couple moved to Peabody in 1977. She later worked for EG&G which later became Perkins Elmer and retired from the company in 2003.
Doris was devoted to her immediate family and her very large extended family. An avid knitter, she also loved cooking and candy making. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband Don, she is survived by two daughters, Laurie A. McGonagle and her husband Michael of Melbourne, FL, Julie A. Bolduc and her husband Joseph of Peabody, a son, Donald L. Dupuis and his wife Laurie of Peabody, two brothers, Ralph G. Turgeon and his wife Louise of Salem, Laurent P. Turgeon and his wife Barbara of Clayton, NC, a sister, Dianne M. Donahue of Salem.
She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Karen of California, Cornelius, Kendrick & Brooklynne all of Florida, Kati & Jacob of Peabody, as well as many nieces and nephews and her devoted four legged friend Coco.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at 9:45 AM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 AM in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Visiting hours at the funeral home: Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be private.
