WOODSTOCK, CT – James R. Browne, 74, of Woodstock died peacefully Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in Webster Manor after a short illness.
He leaves a sister, Barbara T. Heider of Webster; 4 nephews and 2 nieces; 8 grand nephews and 4 grand nieces.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the son of James and Teresa (Scales) Browne. He graduated from Saint Augustine High School in Brooklyn. He lived in Florida for many years before moving here in 2000.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Browne was a technician for the Verizon telephone company for many years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley. He was active in the Cornfield Point Association and belonged to several gun clubs. He enjoyed fishing ,kayaking and spending time with his family.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 15, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be private. There will be a calling period from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday in the funeral home.
