Murphy, Patricia “Patty” Ann, 40, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday at Baptist Hospital East.
Patty was a dedicated mother and a passionate advocate for children. She was born in New York and grew up in Louisville. She was a graduate of the Youth Performing Arts School/duPont Manual. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Louisville, where she received her Master of Science in Social Work. Most of her career centered on her role as Director of Clinical Services and Foster Care at St. Joseph Children’s Home. Along with putting her talents to work helping children and families in need, she was an active musician in the choir at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Patty was preceded in death by her father, John J. Murphy, Jr. She is survived by her children, Casey and Logan Keith, mother, Marguerite (Casey) Murphy, siblings, Eileen Holston (Mike), Erin Schneider (Scott) and John J. Murphy III.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 am, Friday, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 pm – 8 pm Thursday at Owen Funeral Home in Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd.
