Obituary

Adelia (DiCenso) Susi of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End died peacefully at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on Monday. She was 89.

Adelia was born and raised in Sulmona, Italy, the daughter of the late Carlo and Anna DiCenso. She came to the United States in 1960 and first lived in Framingham. Later, with her family, she lived in Boston’s North End where the family operates the Sulmona Meat Market. She later settled in Medford.


The beloved wife of the late Silvio Susi, she was a devoted mother to Anna Susi and her husband Dominico and John Susi, all of Medford. The loving grandmother of Franco and Giancarlo Susi she was a loving great-grandmother to Amara and Dominico. She was the dear sister of Guido DiCenso of Framingham and the late Mario DiCenso.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, December 13th at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
