North Brookfield - Gertrude L. (Banks) St. John, 89, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital. Most recently, she was a resident at Notre Dame du Lac, Worcester. Her husband of 62 years, Albert F. St. John and her daughter, Louise (St. John) Daehne predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Rose (Riley) and George Banks and was a graduate of South High School and Becker Jr. College. Gertrude lived in North Brookfield for more than 50 years and recently 5 years in San Francisco with her son, Richard G. St. John and his partner John R. McCullough. She is also survived by her son, Gerald A. St. John, his wife, Paula and granddaughter, Gillian all of North Brookfield, grandsons Aaron and Bryan Daehne, many nephews and nieces including Carol (Naoum) Oberg and Patricia Hokanson, both of Oxford, many friends, especially John Mahoney of Worcester and the caring family and staff at Notre Dame du Lac. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, assisted the family with arrangements. She will be buried along side her husband in St. John’s Cemetery. Donation in Gertrude’s memory may be contributed to the Activity Fund at Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
