Obituary

On Sunday, December 9, 2012, Phillis Shearon, adored wife, mother, sister and “Bubba”, passed from our world to a place where she can watch over all of us at the same time.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 12th from 3-6 p.m., and on Thursday, December 13th from 9-11 a.m. time of the funeral, at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home in Clarksville. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville. Dr. Wade Scholes will officiate the service at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will be Danny Barnes, John Brennan, L.W. Harris, Jeff Lynn, Ken Moore and Bobby Proctor. Honorary Pallbearers are employees from James Corlew.
Phillis was passionate about giving to those less fortunate, especially children. With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. If you do not have a charity, please consider selecting an angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
Phillis worked for James Corlew for over 36 years. Her most current position at the company was as inventory clerk. She was loyal to Mr. Corlew and his company.
Phillis was born in Macon, GA on November 12, 1947. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Rider; her father, Jack Rider, Sr. and her son, Thomas Jeffrey Shearon.
She leaves behind a multitude of those who love her - two brothers, Jack Rider, Jr. (Kalamazoo, MI) and Pat Rider (Nashville, TN); her sister and best friend, Brenda Wheeler (Nashville, TN); her best friend and sister, Margie Proctor (Clarksville, TN) and Wanda Caro (Pensacola, FL). In addition, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including her “chosen niece,” Ramee Jackson.
Phillis had a wonderful journey of life and love with her husband of forty eight years, Tommy Shearon. Tommy and Phillis shared a powerful and unique love. They managed to grow in love over the years at a time when many people give up on love.
Phillis leaves behind two devoted children, daughter, Tracy Shearon Nichols and her husband Eddie Nichols (Ashland City, TN); son, Steve Shearon and his wife Christy (Clarksville, TN). Phillis was a unique person in every way. She was never a “grandmother,” but a caring and admired, “Bubba.” Bubba has five loving grandchildren, Chandler Ivey, Brandon Shearon, Jessica Shearon, Madison Nichols and Kennedy Nichols. Bubba loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed sharing her love of books, usually with a vampire or horror theme, with them. Bubba also had two great-grandchildren, Reese Ivey and Jaedyn Shearon.
Once her children grew up and had families of their own, Phillis decided to add to her family. Anyone who knew Phillis realized how much she loved her new children, her Yorkies. BoyToy, Dalaney Girl, Addie and Darbi were as much a part of her love, life and family as their two-legged counter parts.
If you ever think that your life is average or that you don’t make a difference, think of what a tremendous impact Phillis “Bubba” Shearon had. Phillis was a tissue and organ donor. Her donation will help many people continue to live and love. With her gifts, she could have been an artist, a writer or a scientist. She had a thirst for knowledge and was our personal guru when it came to recipes, movie stars and movies, crossword puzzles and medical knowledge. Phillis chose to be a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and Bubba. If you knew Phillis, you knew exactly what she thought of you and where you stood with her.
