Nancy (Murphy) DeGiacomo, 98, of Norton and formerly of Walpole died December 9 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of the late Anthony DeGiacomo who died in 1993.
Born in Brighton, December 6, 1914, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Mary (Byrne) Murphy, Mrs. DeGiacomo was raised in Brighton and had lived in Walpole from 1952 until 2007 when she moved to Norton.
Mrs. DeGiacomo had been a Hospice worker at the former Pondville Hospital.
She had been active at St. Timothy’s Church where she had been a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Ladies Sodality and the Women’s Club.
She is survived by her children Dr. William DeGiacomo and his wife Martha of Norton and her daughter Nancy Lamphier of Sarasota, Florida.
She is also survived by her granddaughter Lisa Cook and her great-grandchildren, William, Lucas, Dallas, Paige and Rebecca.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12 in St. Timothy’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be private in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00 - 9:45 in the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main Street in Walpole.
