FELIX RUSSO, age 79, a Hull resident for the past 45 years, died on Wednesday, June 23rd at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a long illness. Mr. Russo was born, raised and educated in Boston. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute and also attended Boston University. He was a self-employed carpenter in Hull for many years. He was formerly an active member of the Hull Lions Club and served as secretary to 5 club presidents. He loved sports and was a past president of Hull Pop Warner Football and then Hull Youth Football. He was also a past president of Hull Senior Babe Ruth Baseball and was manager/coach of the 'Bouvelard Video Team' for 6 years. Mr. Russo was active in town civic affairs and was a past member of the Hull Park & Recreation Board. One of his hobbies was water color painting and he generously gave his artwork to his many friends and neighbors.He was the husband of the late Josephine (McKay) Russo and father of Theresa Shaughnessy of Hull. In addition, he leaves his grandchildren; Lynda, Meaghan, Christine and Brian Shaughnessy all of Hull; his sister, Theresa L. Mahoney of Canton; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Richard Russo.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26th at 10 AM at St. Ann's Church, corner of Samoset Ave. and Lewis St., Hull.Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Friday evening from 5-8 PM.The interment will be in the Hull Village Cemetery.
