Anne T. (Kirchgassner) Hiltz-Donovan, of Plymouth, formerly of Norton, MA; died on December 6th at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester at the age of 63. The beloved wife of the late Daniel Donovan, she is survived by her daughter Melissa A. Miller of Ludlow and her son Michael J. Hiltz and his wife Kate of Marlborough. She also leaves her sister Mary Tasselari and her husband Donnie of Plymouth, her brother John Kirchgassner and his wife Elaine of Weymouth and her cherished grandchildren: Andrew and Elizabeth Miller and Matthew Hiltz.
Anne was born in Boston, daughter of the late Catherine T. (Kelley) and John J. Kirchgassner. She graduated from St. Gregory High School in Dorchester, Boston State College Cum Laude where she received her BS and Suffolk University Law School Cum Laude where she received her JD. She was admitted to the MA Bar in 1982, US District Court in 1983, US Tax Court in 1985 and the US Supreme Court in 1986. Anne was a member of the MA Bar Association, the Norton Public Library Board of Trustees from 1975 until 1994 and served as President from 1983-1984. She negotiated a million dollar grant from Balfour Foundation for the construction and endowment of the Norton Public Library. She was also a member of St. Bonaventure’s Parish where she attended daily Mass and Communion. There, she was an Eucharistic minister and a member of the Bonnie Seniors and MRSVP – Summer Reads. Anne lived in Sagamore Beach from 1993 until 2002 and was an Eucharistic minister at St. Theresa’s Church and a member of the Apache Camp Group of New England. Before moving to Sagamore Beach, she had lived in Norton for 20 years where she was an Eucharistic minister at St. Mary’s Church, taught CCD and was on the Parish council. She was also a member of the League of Women Voters. Anne enjoyed sewing, reading, knitting, gardening, traveling, camping, golf and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Monday, December 10th from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 11th at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth at 11 AM followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Fund for the Needy, c/o St. Bonaventure’s Church, P.O Box 996, Manomet, MA 02345.
